#001 U-A-R-K / April 11, 2024 - April 13, 2024
U-A-R-K（英語：Unravel and Re-knit、日本語：ユーエーアールケー / 解いて編んで）は、トークノンセンスが継続的に取り組む、民主的で共同的な制作手法を探究する試みです。小さな部屋の片隅で密かに始まったこのワークショップをさまざまな場所へ拡張しながら、プロダクト、ユーザー、メーカーの間に、新たな関係性を築く機会を模索しています。私たちは、このプロジェクトが今日の社会を動かす「過剰さ」を和らげ回復を促し、時には足るを知ることの豊かさを見いだす。そんな価値観を広げていけることを願っています。そしてその結果として、ユニークで独特なニット製品が生まれることを期待しています。
既に行われたワークショップの一例
〈#001 - ミニマルで自律した素材調達の実験〉
日付: 2024年4月11日 - 4月13日
場所: UCC (Utenji Community Center)
1. 日本で古くから使われてきた工業用の”ニットウェア解し機”や、家庭用毛糸湯伸器 “湯熨斗器”などを用意する。
2. それらを用いてヴィンテージのニットの解剖、分解、オーバーホールを行い、糸の状態に戻す。
3. 採集された糸は、即興的にブレンドされ、新しいニットウェアを作るための小さな試編みとなった。

U-A-R-K (Unravel and Re-knit, read as 'ju-ə-ɑr-keɪ' / 'Hodoite-ande' in Japanese) is an ongoing initiative by TALK NONSENSE, exploring democratic and cooperative creative approaches. This workshop, which began quietly in the corner of a small space, expands to various locations, fostering opportunities for new relationships between products, users, and makers. We hope this project will ease and restore balance in today's overabundant society, while also promoting the importance of at times finding contentment with less. Through this process, we look forward to creating unique and authentic knit products.
An Example of a Past Workshop Day
〈#001 - Experimentation with Minimal and Autonomous Material Procurement〉
Date: April 11, 2024 - April 13, 2024
Location: UCC (Utenji Community Center)
1. Prepare industrial "knitwear unraveling machines" and the household yarn steaming and stretching device "Yunoshi-ki," long used in Japan.
2. Using these tools, dissect, deconstruct, and overhaul vintage knits, returning them to their yarn state.
3. The collected yarn was impromptu blended and turned into small swatches for creating new knitwear.
